I’ve got one of these! The Oakville Public Library deaccessioned some years ago from their Childrens’ Library when I was working for the Oakville Arts Council and being a bit of a chair collector, I couldn’t resist. Very comfortable design!

I picked one of these up on the weekend. Identical, but in a fine stripe. Tag ref. 1960s patent pending.

I’ve got 3 one-seaters, 2 two-seaters, and 1 three seater. I’ve restored a one- seater to its original glory. I love these chairs!

I just picked up this fabulous chair at a vintage shop in a nearby town. It’s upholstry is in great condition – a brown and almost pinky-taupe stripe fabric. I found the tag which reads 1960 patent pending and decided to do a google search to learn more about the chair. Glad I did!

I picked up one at a school auction, bad reupolstery job, the foam had disintergrated. Lookinf for someone that could reupolster in the original Nugent style. I have a two seater with original black vinyl. Would love to match it.

We just found 2 of these chairs in the trash on garbage day! Decent condition – orange fabric. Any idea about the value?

I just bought a red Walter Nugent 2 seater with a detacheable table. Taken separately, the chairs would look like 2 CH-15 without the inside arm rests… the stamp reads Walter Nugent Designs Ltd. 1960.

I have inherited my parent’s two chairs. Unfortunately the 3-seater disappeared years ago (to my brother’s first wife). I also have two end tables and one coffee table in the matching walnut finish. Walter’s shop was in the back of the Chase Medicine Company shop in Oakville when my father worked for Chase’s. He bought the pieces directly from Walter back in about 1962. I will never part with them even though mid-century modern is not my style. They look wonderful at my cottage!

Hi, Anyone know where to get these chairs reupholstered (properly but on the cheap?!)?
BrigitteAugust 8, 2010
my Mom and Dad worked for Nugent Designs back in the beginning..though the chair design was Mr Nugent’s .. she helped him iron out the flaws of the fabric covering ..the fitting ..the zipper concept..and in fact was THE seamstress to sew all the coverings for his chairs and loungers.. my Dad assembled the frames.. it was a “3 man ” company .. my Mom basically put him on the design map so to say .. he got the glory .. she did the “real” work .. anyway .. was a long time ago .. am glad you are enjoying the Nugent .. they tend to be durable yet still fashionably current

I have dozens of peices of teak, with the Walter Nugent little plaque on them. They seem to be dismantelled chairs. What can I do with them ?? Beautiful wood. Any ideas anybody ?
