I can only imagine the noise and fear that this technical beast must have created when rumbling down a snow filled track, but the looks of it would be enough to move any living thing from its path I am sure. A true Canadian invention, this CP locomotive has a rotary snowplow fit to the front nose, which obviously sucks the snow from the rails, and blows it to the side. The plow is well designed, using a simple retrofit and power from the existing motor to operate. This device salvaged train travel and access to the most remote parts of the country, during a season when most were traditionally cut off.
