Pure Design produced some great work and was a draw for Canadian designers aiming to bring their work to market. Pure was sold a few years back to OFFI in the States, and most of the lines were sadly discontinued (Including some key pieces by Douglas Coupland and Karim Rashid). I like this piece a lot, beyond the pleasant design of the coat rack and its reference to the natural world, the fact that Pure attracted foreign designers of great note (Constantin Boym, Richard Hutten, amongst others) to come to Canada and drive work into the venture is such a valuable feature. The principles behind Pure are still grinding away in the design community here, so we are guaranteed to see more wonderful things from Alberta.
