Beautiful spherical art pottery vase by Ed Drahanchuk of Drahanchuk Studios & Gallery located on Quadra Island, British Columbia. In cooperation with his wife, Ethel, and architectural scultor Bob Oldrich, he established Ed Drahanchuk Design Associates in Southwest Calgary in 1963, the year he graduated from the Alberta College of art. In 1969, he moved into a specially designed 5600 square foot studio/residence. This building won an award as one of Canada’s best designed buildings for the decade 1960-70. In 1975 he moved and set up a new studio on Quadra Island, B.C.. He has participated in ninety government and gallery exhibitions, in fifteen countries. Many of his pieces were purchased for Canadian embassies.

Hi, Mt first comment since being out of touch for some period of time (many years) now because of various problems and am now seriously contemplating going back into pottery for whatever time I can…not production as such, but more specialized. If all goes well I will be building my fifth kiln this summer (2017).
Looking for level of interest and a line of contacts for when “stuff” available (late 2017.
Thanks, Ed.
I will in the very near future begin posting on face book and twitter with updated information

I have some beautiful Drahanchuk pieces purchased in Calgary at Ed’s studio. One is a large lidded jar with an incised pattern, a heavy ash tray, and a set of 6 cups, tea pot, sugar and creamer. I need to sell them as I am downsizing. Any suggestions?
