Named after Reginald R. Faryon, a member of the Trent University’s original Board and president of the Quaker Oats Company of Canada, the bridge is a masterpiece of brutalism. Crossing the Otonabee River with a sweeping concrete deck, winged pedestrian walls, and lean muscular bracing, the design looks light and pleasant and invites views of the river, the university and the city.
