The Canadian ceramics community has been delivering a handful of moody, bizarre and Tim Burtonish forms and subjects, and Janet Macpherson, inspired by a Catholic childhood is adding to the movement. For her designs, she blends a collection of found and made forms to create her deformed and corrupt objects, with elements colliding and creating a strange world outside the boundaries of the everyday. Her work manufactures narratives that she is not entirely in control off, an incomplete story that make us wonder and compels us to look again for meaning.
