Loaded with great (often hilarious) photos from the company’s past, Mountain Equipment Co-op’s latest catalogue celebrates 40 years of MEC. The catalogue will also be the company’s last; with online shopping now the norm, MEC has decided to save money, and resources by scrapping the now-familiar printed catalogues. Determined to go out with a bang, MEC commissioned illustrations from Canadian designers (and MEC members), including spreads by Ray Fenwick, Platform Design, Jason Blower, and this richly detailed cover by Luke Ramsey.

I heard a rumour that this is the last print catalogue to be made…end of an era, and on to something more exciting…mobile!

Ya, I know it’s not the most convenient for the dinosaurs among us, but I’m liking the move to carrying NO bags – and going NO print will align perfectly with this ethos.
