Quite a stir was caused by this week’s [NOW magazine](http://www.nowtoronto.com/daily/news/story.cfm?content=179961) this morning. A “misunderstanding” that city workers were instructed to remove and destroy all copies of Toronto’s most popular free weekly from all City locations and facilities created a media frenzy. City Hall reps quickly retracted to say this was all a mix-up and that the mayor’s office supports free speech. For a moment, Toronto had hints of an authoritarian regime. It’s laughable, really, but puts in perspective how lucky we are to live where we do.
