In the early 1990’s, the « Laiterie de Coaticook » dairy wanted to create a iced milk product that would be in step with new health food trends, while keeping the creaminess of ice cream.

Thanks to their vision, the dairy’s iced milk stood out from its competitors. Despite its lower fat content, their iced milk was very creamy compared to the competition’s, as well as higher in calcium. The product was called « P’tit velours » which means « Little Velvet », due to its smooth and creamy texture.

The product would be renamed in 2008 to Coaticook Old-fashioned Iced Milk.
