The sun flower chair is the successor of the Canadian iconic Solair chair. Following the enormous success of the Solair chairs, Liberty Ornamental Iron Ltd. of Toronto Canada produced a second model for Eaton’s and other Canadian retailers. The formula was the same, a single injection molded chair seat with a cold bent metal frame that followed a similar design and color palette as the Solair. The radiant circular pattern was very difficult to produce and this resulted in low production numbers .These pieces have become considerably rare, with only a handful surviving the reality of vintage outdoor furniture in Canada. This example is done in a dark grey toned seat with a cold-painted brass finished base. This chair is clearly signed the "Sun Flower Chair", manufactured by "Liberty Ornamental Iron Ltd. Toronto" on the underside of the seat.
